Providing Opportunities to Community College Study Abroad (POCCSA) Grant funded by the IFSA Foundation
CCIE was awarded from the IFSA Foundation a multi-year grant to help further access to community college study abroad semester-length programs in California. Providing Opportunities to Community College Study Abroad (POCCSA) includes a combination of a) institutional seed-money for the creation and of semester-length programs especially for non-traditional students in non-traditional locations and in non-traditional disciplines and b) student scholarships that will provide financial support for students who want to study abroad. The creation of new study abroad opportunities along with financial support for students will result in increased participation by all community college students. Finally, the POCCSA grant will help define a Community College Standards Guide that will be shared with community colleges nationally and internationally. With such standards, broader support for the field will be able to be encouraged.
